Cons: After Effects is not beginner friendly, you will definitely need to watch videos and explore Adobe Help to get an understanding before diving in.

Pros: The ability to manipulate video and just about do anything they you can imagine. The Adobe UI across all of their apps does a good job of utilizing similar UI which makes it easy to jump around the Adobe CC tools. Love how the features of AE just keep getting better.

Cons: As the tool has evolved the need for a better computer is necessary as AE can be a real computer resource hog.

Overall: After Effects has been one of the industry standard video effects tools for ages. I've been using it since 1998 and it just keeps getting better. The Adobe team is really responsive considering what a huge company they are within the industry. After Effects along with the rest of Adobe CC bundle are a must for any digital marketer that utilizes multimedia.

You will find some lags and jitters even working on a high-end machine, and I think they should look into the issue and improve it as it is a significant setback for the users in terms of experience.
-The subscription fee for this app is on the pricier side but considering all the features and customer support you get, and it is justifiable. After all, you are working on a professional app, so you should expect a high price.

Pros: I am familiar with Adobe software so for me After Effects is really easy to learn.
You can do 2 D animation, 3D animation , motion graphics and many cool special effects.
You can do normal video editing also with many effect and transitions.
There are lot of plugins are available for after effect Which help you to do advance video editing or vfx for an example element 3d for creating packshots.

Cons: For new users who are not familiar with these kind of software can face issues to understand the interface, it's not hard but there are lot of things.
After Effects needs a high system configuration for vxf and some other things but if you want normal video editing then its ok.
It created lot of temp files which take a lot of space.

Overall: The software is industry leader in the field of video editing. The best part of this is there are tons of tutorial available online. "Gold standard for compositing but less essential today than it once was."

Pros: This is THE best compositing toolkit out there, no question. I'm not a fan of the rental/subscription format of Creative Cloud but the software itself is top-notch. The keying tools, the masking and roto, and all the effects filters are great and very extensible - there are a ton of Ae plugins that expand the creative potential of this VFX tool to be nearly limitless.

Cons: Creative Cloud, unfortunately, is not great. I'd prefer to own software outright. Worse for AE, the alternatives seem to be catching up fast. Hitfilm Pro is an excellent alternative (That I recently switched to) and Fusion is also amazing for pro-grade compositing and keying, and both of those offer one-time pricing and feature limited but still decent free versions. After Effects needs to continue improving, and Adobe cannot be complacent and expect to retain its customer base in the future.

Overall: I used AE for thousands of hours on various VFX projects as far back as 2003 (before the CS series) so I do have a fondness for Adobe's software. I have used AE on dozens of short videos to do a wide range of effects sequences. But as an indie on a limited budget I realize it is time to move on personally. The alternatives are nearly as good and they fit a pricing model that I prefer.
